This isn't an E system camera but the new Olympus Quiksilver Limited Edition Tough. I was just checking to see if there was any new Olympus news & this was it. It's interesting to see Olympus has used the 3" inch 920k Dots LCD Screen on it. http://www.olympus.com.au/component/option,com_product/id,480/task,detail/Itemid,69/

Water proof to 10m!!! and 14M pixel, sounds like an impressive bit of kit.

An interesting gizmo, Ross ... I'd have trouble bonding with it in spite of its credentials - it doesn't yell, "BUY ME!"

Afterthought:
I swim about as well as a waterlogged terd but if it has a self timer it would be useful to attach to the end of a line to check out if there were any fish below, mate. :D

I got the Mu8000 last year for my trip to Sharm el Sheikh... awesome camera. Perfect for those coloured fishies :)

John were you pleased with the output? Maybe this would be a cheaper option for me ! I was toying with an underwater housing from Olympus - but as it would be offchance fishies and coral photos - I do not want to spend a lot of money ... ? hummmmm what should I do ?

Hiya Chevvyf1

Well, I have to admit that I was very impressed with the output. Have a look through the image gallery from my trip, all the underwater shots were taken with the Tough Mu8000.

I would definitely recommend that model, was well worth the 200 I spent. I will be using it again this year as we are planning on going back there in August.

As DSLR users, we're never going to be 100% happy with the output from such a hi-res and small sized sensor, but it's a gem of a camera for what you want to use it for.

I have the 8010 and provided you do not use the high ISO range the images are pretty good... it is designed for good light so the focus does have trouble on wet dreary days...
