I gave my dad the ED 70-300 I had spare for his birthday, and he wants a soft case for it. Does anyone have a suggestion for a suitable case? I don't think it came with a case in the box. If it does come with a soft case, can someone give me the LSC No, so I can order a spare for him?

Hi Cathrine. Ebay have a leatherette case, item number 110607509966, that will take the 70-300. It's only 99p (in our money) plus postage which shouldn't be much to Norway. It's good enough to stop the lens from getting scratched but not if it's dropped!

The lens case 2S should be ideal: Lowepro lens cases (http://products.lowepro.com/catalog/Lens-Cases,46.htm)

I think it would be the right size.

I have the Lowe-Pro 2 and it fits the 70-300 very well.

There was a free case that fits on an issue of AP about 2 months back, maybe you can find a back issue online.

I use 'Exped Crush Drybags' when I'm out walking with my lenses:

They're very effective and not expensive.

If you want an Oly lens pouch then the LSC-0918 fits, but only just. It does fully cover the lens complete with lens hood but doesn't quite close up completely.
