Not sure it would work with an E-3 and 300mm f2.8 :D
Seen things like these in the mags for a lot more.
Great for an E-4XX or E-6XX with a kit lenses but not so good for anything weightier I guess :(

OH No....

I see these as a wonderful way to drop your expensive camera and lens and will not be swapping out my camera care belt pouch for one of these ...I bet the draw is faster on that anyway... anyone fanct a shoot out :D

Andy

Hmm. Strikes me if you sat down too fast you might get skewered in the Gentleman's Department as James May put it...

I didn't recommend it! I posted the details to see what the response would be and I wasn't disappointed.:)

I think that Pete's (it was Pete's wasn't it?) shoulder hanging thingy was much better.

Before I get arrested, I should point out that my Snaarstrap looks like this and goes over one shoulder, so the camera hangs by your side..

BTW, I have to report I've been using this for over a year and am well pleased with the reduction in neck ache, and with the general usibility of it.

Sorry, Pete, couldn't think what it was officially called. Why not go into production? I'm sure you'd get many buyers.

I don't think I would want to trust any holster that might have a safety release latch or whatever. I use the Quick Strap (sling strap system) which is similar to Black Rapid at a 1/3 of the price (& slightly more advanced than the Snaarman strap ;)). I have seen an updated version with a curved shoulder pad that would be even better than the original. The only thing that needs to be attended to is the latch with a few different versions being sold with the strap to make sure it can't come off easily (at the wrong time). The strap system is really great for the heavier outfits as it relieves the load considerably & is very convenient & functional.

I use a Y-Strap for both my light cameras (G2 and E-P2), and have a Black Rapid for my E-1.

To be honest, I find the Black Rapid a bit bulky and prefer just to hand-hold the E-1 without any other visible means of support. I throw it into my Billingham shoulder bag when not in use.

Good to see another user. I needed the double strap recently as I was constantly swapping between 2 cameras & it was a little bit of a pain running back to the chair to swap cameras (with flashes on each), mind you, a large aperture 14-150 lens would have been nice instead.

I have just ordered the double strap for these occasions, but would not use it all the time (I don't want to look like a goose or a wannabe pro). It has the new secure fitting like Black Rapid now (at least it better come that way).

Here is the link for it http://www.linkdelight.com/O4K-Double-Strap-Camera-Sling-as-Black-Rapid-DR-1.html

Update: I have also ordered the Black Rapid ConnectR-2 (X3) to be on the safe side as they are only US$11.95 ea.
