Interesting that you say you made no colour changes. This looks like the heavens are about to open...

I like the overall image

Consider:
The detail in the dark areas could be increased to give more focus to the foreground.

A position further to the right to bring more of the RHS of the pier into view

Try it in B&W with settings to enhance the clouds.

I like the colours and agree with Graham the overall image is quite pleasing. Maybe a darker sky and the walkway lightened? I think the walkway in any case should be the main focus of attention but I found myself distracted by the land on the left and what looks like a bridge in the background, so I would be tempted to de-clutter it a bit even maybe losing the lamp posts. Having said that if the image was mine I would be quite pleased with it.

Many thanks for the comments, most welcome. I likes the Severn bridges but would have had to walk on water to frame them with the pier. However here is another one taken with my favourite lens, the 70 - 300mm.
