Here's one for our technical specialists.

OK, say I wanted to get a new 4GB or 8GB CF Card, what is the spec of the one with the fastest read/write speed...?

Sorry for the dopey question.

Not quite the answer you're looking form, but the short answer is expensive

Next answer is that performance depends on many things such as the camera as well as the card and is't certain that you'll get the best out of the card as you see in many tests.

Here's a good ( but not Oly ) resource for comparisons http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_page.asp?cid=6007

Looking some time ago at various models I decided that I needed to upgrade to min 133x cards and I did see a signficant difference between those and the older ones I had.

Moving to 200x * 233x I've seen some, but not as much difference. Mainly it extends the burst you can get because some files are written out ao allowing a couple more in the burst

I don't get anything less than 200 these days, but haven't tried anything faster

Ta Andy. I'm thinking more in terms of card -> PC/Mac transfer speed.

Select card readers in the drop down to get this info

I have a Lexar USB CF/SD card reader. It will transfer at over 20MB per second with my highspeed Lexar or Sandisk cards.

There is a firewire version which is even faster, but you need a firewire port. Plus they are not cheap.
