Hi All,

May as well start the E 500 Forum.

Any one with an E 500 having problems with noise on long exposures even the NR on? I'm talking over 30s exposures. Even with NR on I get a few hot pixels that need photoshopping.

The Camera has always done this from new, if I turn NR off, the shot is just terrible for noise.

I've used a program to test for dead pixels and I have non but have thousands of hot pixels with the NR off, just wondered if this is normal or not.

Cheers

Have you tried Pixel Mapping? It's designed to eliminate hot and cold pixels. It's on the second toolkit (spanner) menu, towards the end.

It works by detecting rogue pixels and then the value of adjacent pixels are applied to it to make it blend in. I saw somewhere that it's recommended you use pixel mapping about once a year.

Hi Ian,

I've not tried that, was a little scared to, tbh.

Will give it a try and see what happens.
